Bonjour and welcome to HJ Underway! I’m Jacki, or “MommaExpat”on the interwebs. I began this blog in December 2011 to chronicle our daily lives as my husband, “Papa,” son “HJ,” and I began our expat assignment in Paris, France. Prior to accepting a 2 to 5 year assignment through my husband’s employer, I was working full-time as a mental health therapist at a special needs school. Now I’m just another American stay-at-home mom, but in Paris. And yes, I don’t speak French (still)…. but hey I’m trying to learn!
We’ve lived in many states in New England & therefore love all things New-England-ish. This list includes, but is not limited to: the Boston Red Sox, lobster, clam chowder, Sam Adams lager, Misquamicut Beach, the Cape, the 4 seasons, apple & pumpkin picking, cheese, and family (most of them live in New England).
