If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know that my hometown is Norwich, Connecticut. However my second home is most definitely Boston, Massachusetts. I finished out my bachelor’s degree there while Papa attended his master’s program; we lived in Somerville and loved it. When I think of Boston, I can’t help but smile. So in honor of smiling, this weekend’s getaway is Boston.
(1) There’s no denying that beer is the drink of choice in Boston. Ditch the Bud Light and Sam Adam’s (yes, I said it) and head for one with a bit more flavor, like Jack D’Or from Pretty Things. (2) Eat a bowl of New England clam chowder. The one with milk in it. If you happen to find yourself in Boston, eat a bowl from Ned Devine’s. Photo via (3) Watch The Departed for a truly authentic Boston experience, or (4) Listen to Aerosmith. (5) Buy your tickets for next season to see the best baseball team in the world. No, really, the best. I said so. (6) Wear layers. Lots and lots of layers, because it’s cold in Boston. From October until June. Boston Street Style is a great way to get a feel for how to wear layers.
