I took my first trip to Amsterdam back in April this year with a good friend from the states, and blogged about it here, here, and here. (Slight aside; most of the Google search traffic that comes to my blog is from searches that contain “Amsterdam, Red Light District, and prostitutes.” )
We are definitely going to take a family trip to Amsterdam in the future. It’s a quick train ride from Paris and the people are super friendly. In the meantime, however, you can experience an Amsterdam weekend getaway THIS weekend.
(1) Drink a Heineken while (2) eating pannekoeken, the traditional Dutch pancake. (3) Watch (the 1959 film or the 2009 tv series) or read the story of Anne Frank. I strongly suggest reading the book. And bringing tissues. (4) Buy some tulips in any color and (5) go for a bike ride. (6) Afterwards, check out I love Vintage’s online collection of clothing.
I love Amsterdam! And yes, also love that it’s just a quick jaunt from Paris
