WARNING: This is a POOP post. If you are disgusted by discussions around poop, colon cleansing, etc. please, please don’t read on. I don’t want to inflict any unnecessary damage on any reader who is grossed out by poop.
According to the company who produced the colon cleanse that cost me lots of $$…. I am “emotionally constipated.”
The cleanse I did required taking digestive stimulators to help “move” things along, coupled with a toxin absorber, which is suppose to coat and grab all the crap (hee hee) and get things moving. You consume the toxin stimulator with organic apple juice every three hours, only taking in apple juice, water, and a vegetable broth. Day 1 of 5 yielded no results. Same for Day 2, Day 3…. and then I was like, “Geez why I am still doing this?” So I stopped.
The Blessed Herb site states, “Often this could be associated with a difficulty of letting go at an emotional level. Stress, pressure, and sudden challenges can also easily affect bowel movements. If one is paying “too much” attention to their bowel movements this can cause “emotional” constipation. Often times, simply letting go at the emotional level will release the bowels. Once a person with this challenge has released for the first time, they should not experience any more difficulties throughout the program.”
Day 4 I took my typical daily probiotic and things are back to, well, normal.
The upside in doing this cleanse is that I no longer feel hungry all the time. I have also not had any alcoholic beverages for over a week and a half and I feel really good. I’ve been limiting my meat intake and instead overloading on veggies and fruit. I haven’t really been tracking my WW points at all but I think I’d be under if I did.
Looking back I think I would have rather just gotten a colonic like I had intended. Fast, quick and dirty. Maybe the colon cleanse works for some people, but not for me. Apparently I am unable to “let go.” =)
I’m tempted to re-try Couch to 5K and sign up for BlogHer’12′s 5K…. humm…..
Have you ever done a colon cleanse or colonic? Do believe in the concept of it? Have you ever done a “cleanse?” If so, please let me know, I’m interested in hearing more.
